Just here to remind you that, with “net zero”, we’re having a meaningless argument about a meaningless frame in order to distract from the single most important and meaningful issue confronting us.

This is politics today.

We should stop wasting time and energy and build a new system.

Profits and shareholder value are fundamentally incompatible with universal access to aged care (or health care). The business model offloads those liabilities to the public sector while, at the same time, raking in subsidies from the public purse. Just corrupt and wrong.

#auspol
This is what happens when you sell aged care off to corporations to make a profit.

A recent report from OPAN has revealed that older people are facing rejections from residential aged care because their needs are too ‘complex’ (meaning expensive) for providers' liking.

The Israeli invasion of Gaza City represents an escalation that will bring untold suffering to innocent civilians. Telling people to evacuate when nowhere is safe is sadistic and inhumane. Australia must not remain complicit.

The social media world is not some alternate reality our children “escape” into – it is the reality they live in. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we can help them thrive within it.

The right defends economic power.

The left resists economic power.
