Find a balance between enjoying life in the present and planning for the future.
Remember that most of the things you worry about never happen.
Make a point of noticing and appreciating ordinary little things. Learn to love dandelions again.

I think most people have revenge fantasies and most of those shouldn't be made public. My own are more educational in nature, like forcing the rich and powerful to work in fast food and live strictly on the wages from that job... 🧵
On principle I simply don’t endorse wishing violence on people, especially as a public joke. For a host of reasons including how wishing violence on people changes the *wisher*. On this point I think people should be careful for *spiritual* reasons, whether or not it’s simply expedient.

Is there a reason why moderation couldn’t start with gentle warnings well before they get to account suspensions? On reflection I don’t like even allusive threat language (e.g. the Cash lyrics) but seems like we’re getting death-penalty-for-shoplifting kind of attitude here.

I do agree that Bluesky massively needs to improve how it notifies people about suspensions - it needs to be 100% clear what it was for, and how long the suspension will last.

You may remember 2 or 3 weeks ago I was talking about making one last summer dress. Here it is with an LL Bean t-shirt for a cool fall morning. (unseen: black Snag tights) I wore it grocery shopping and got compliments from 5 women. A record!

Oh. Yeah. I hadn't thought of this. ☹️ It sounds strange because we're not used to it but it's appropriate.
Not for nothing, this is one reason why we say "pregnant patient" instead of "woman." It's not just for non-binary inclusion.
In addition to the fact that it's very much the power imbalance and legal responsibility to protect them that makes them children, it's also disturbing that so many people are willingly like "listen, 15 year olds are hot, and that's a fact." They are children. They look like children.

I cleaned out my sock drawer this morning. Painful sacrifices were made. (Just because I don't wear them doesn't mean I don't love them.) The drawer is just as full as it was, just less compressed. Now I'm ready for the fuzzy Christmas socks I'm sure I will receive.

I like both milk chocolate and dark chocolate, the latter maybe a little bit more. One is not "better" than the other. It just depends on which you prefer.

Today's heretical opinion: Milk chocolate is better than dark chocolate and expensive chocolate is so very rarely worth the additional expense. Most chocolate more costly than a Lindt bonbon is a waste of money.
