It's easy to see shoddy research as a bad actor problem. But if AI slop like this can make it through editors and peer reviewers, it means there are systemic problems at work. And I'd argue that at least part of the problem is the overwork culture in academia-- pressure to do more while caring less.
"Runctitiononal features"? "Medical fymblal"? "1 Tol Line storee"? This gets worse the longer you look at it. But it's got to be good, because it was published in Nature Scientific Reports last week: www.nature.com/articles/s41... h/t @asa.tsbalans.se

Don't you tell me where to fart, WaPo!
Feeling gassy after Thanksgiving? Take a fart walk.

Light exercise after a big meal can help. Whatever you do, resist the urge to lie down.

This is also why I read science fiction. It covers so much. People who dismiss it as mere genre fiction for nerds and weirdos have no idea.
One of the great things about writing science-fiction is that I can talk about all sorts of other things. For instance, my recent novels have touched on Atlantis as a folk memory of the flooding of the North Sea at the end of the last ice age,

If a phone still works fine, it’s not “device hoarding” to keep using it. It’s common sense.

I'm retired but on behalf of all the people still working. F*** you, Donna. I don't like the term work-life balance either. It suggests that the very two are equal but life is more important. Work is merely what you do so you can afford a good life.

Two of our nephews dogs.* The golden fell in love with me and tried to keep me.

(* He has 3. The other one, a lean, brown spotted dog, wouldn't be still long enough for a picture.)

I know most of the focus is on RFK Jr.'s weird horny texts, but the news that he used to spam Bill Nye with anti-vax weirdness and Bill was like, "Dude, you're you're confusing correlation for causation" is the only RFK text-message news I will ever need.

I am thankful for the life I have right now and most of all for my wonderful low-drama family, my husband, sons, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and husband's siblings and their offspring.

Stop putting lead in things that aren't supposed to have lead! I don't have any of these pans but sheesh! What's next?! What if memory loss and other old age ailments are not a normal part of aging but are actually from a lifetime of eating lead?

FDA warns consumers about 19 cookware products that could leach lead into your food. Here's the list.
Consumers with the imported pans should throw them away due to the severe health risks posed by lead, the agency warns.

I think my husband was more liberal than I was at the start but now we're pretty much the same, politically.
Honesty, getting married to a liberal woman was so liberating because I could just do whatever and she didn’t expect me to be macho. Now I fart, watch football, listen to musicals, cry at sappy shit, whatever I want and no judgment… pure freedom. I still have to deal with mice and spiders tho.
