Having seen their work on my house, I can confirm that contractors are generally not conscious.
No but seriously, great thread on what looks to be a very infuriating article

I am gaming the system by accepting that I am lucky, but believing that i am supernaturally lucky

Note: I am not wildly successful
I’ve seen this thing crop up with people who are wildly successful

It’s not always (or even often) eugenics - sometimes it’s about auras, reincarnations, determination, kindness of spirit, inherited intelligence, whatever

If you get lucky and make it big, you always want to believe you earned it
Evil men like Epstein are, in the simplest form, obsessed with eugenics because they believe that their ill-gotten gains are the product of some innate superiority.

Outed as being 12 because while I probably saw someone die on the Internet, I can't remember it.
On the other hand, I did read almost all of the rotten.com library, so probably there. Nothing sad about it though, that shit was actually informative

Crunch is bad. Crunch ruins lives. Crunch kills. Don't ask for it. Don't do it. It's bad.

I can't believe I still have to say this after all these years.

It's a credit to his acting that I never thought of him as Italian, even though his name was Viggo. If you'd asked me previously what his ethnicity was I'd have just said "the blood of Numenor, obviously."

Tying mutual aid to the state and politicians is in fact how we got into this mess in the first place! The point of mutual aid is replacing the logics of state and market not just tying them back to the state!!! We cannot be doing this again!!!!

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Guy* who bought AC Syndicate just to talk to Karl Marx

*I might be that guy
As a history nerd, I've bought Assassin's Creed games just to walk around the cities because I know they've collaborated with actual historians to try and reconstruct the era and landmarks as accurately as possibly...I dont think I've ever finished one to be honest, I just liked walking xD

Ah, yes, 'Russians'. The declining colonialist empire allegedly conducting hybrid warfare in EU space. We have dismissed this claim.

Literally all of society hates this abominable scam homunculus and the weird little death cult bubble of vampiric losers who spewed it forth upon the world. Take a break from bragging about how gullible you are and give yourself a swirlie and stuff yourself in a locker and sort yourself out.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort β€” specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

i think that people who use headphones in public places like trains are selfish. keeping all your cool music and podcasts to yourself is genuinely sociopathic and deranged behavior. play it on your phone's speaker and let everyone enjoy it, or don't play it at all
