i completely agree

"people who are insecure seek fields where they can cocoon themselves in the illusion of certainty" strikes again

many people who are drawn to computers aren't INTERESTED in computers, or software, or making things… they want control and the illusion of certainty
I am beginning to develop a suspicion of national decline based in elevating STEM nerds to dangerously high social positions, because their tendency to believe that "anything that cannot be properly measured should not be argued for" is being more revealed by the day as an inherently reactionary one

this piece is terrifying. it should be actually illegal to do this to people, it's extraordinary that it's not.

we are still treating 'the internet' as this fun place for entertainment rather than *it's as important as your house, it's where you live and work*.

This is an interesting point. People who make AI and people who use AI are probably more likely to hate other people and want other people to hate other people so people prefer using AI instead of interacting with other people.
They want us to hate each other , believe we are things to be navigated around and use more AI/ feel more entitled to increase their market share
why are all these ai ads so awful, cynical, bitter, demeaning, negative, insulting and injurious to the human spirit?

whether made with ai, or made to sell ai. the *text* is bleak.

This is the problem with so many dudes shilling for "agentive AI" too. The actual work they are claiming to replace is invisible to them, especially how much it relies on relationships, informal networks, context, and the ability to bridge systems that don't interoperate.
Nothing wrong with having help for childcare, I wish everyone could. Definitely something wrong with being a billionaire snake oil salesman and pretending that the human help you rely on for childcare is actually done by your snake oil
