I love Portland Frog and the AMPHIFA movement so I made some protest art to go along with the movement. No AI was used to illustrate the frog - I drew it myself. Feel free to use this image - just don’t claim it as your own or sell it.

Saw the hand to hand combat with the inflatable frog. 😳 would be funny if it wasn’t so scary.
Stephen Miller claims that in Portland "ICE officers have to street battles against antifa, hand to hand combat every night, to come and go from their building"

40 years ago tomorrow, @ajmoore.bsky.social and I took a leap into the future. I never imagined what a grand adventure it would turn out to be. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has never been dull. Can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds. 😘

lol. Here I am, about to retire in the DC area, wondering what my purpose in retired life might be…
Setting aside the glaring racism and ageism, what I see here is fear. Fear because "elderly white hippies" are (or at least could be) a major threat to fascism. They have more time and money to burn than most other groups. And they have less to lose in going out and protesting tyrants.
Stephen Miller: "All these demonstrators that you've seen out here in recent days, all these elderly white hippies, they're not part of the city and never have been ... we're gonna ignore these stupid white hippies that all need to go home and take a nap because they're all over 90 years old."

This is my congressman. Called his office. Was nice, but got hung up on once I (politely) pointed out he is evil and heading to hell.
There it is. Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) says Republicans’ next goal is to kick seniors off Social Security: “Get off of Social Security. Get back into the workforce.”

I also love my wonky stuff. I used to see only the flaws. Now I focus on the 💕 that goes into turning that ‘noodle of sheep hair’ into something someone I love will enjoy.
I love my wonky stuff. It's how I know I made it. My first attempt at anything isn't going to be perfect, but I can proudly keep it as a reminder that I learned how to do a thing with my own hands.

You took a noodle of sheep hair and turned it into a wearable garment! That's freaking amazing!

My #withoutNSF story is very personal. NSF gave me a landing place after being denied tenure for being “a strong woman wearing a short skirt”. My work as a DBI PO kept me in science. And we supported the forefront of tech that now seems common, like the first sequencers for evolutionary biologists.
Why is the U.S. National Science Foundation important?

That’s the day Donald Trump’s advisory committee is expected to release its findings on whether he should invoke the Insurrection Act — a move that would allow him to deploy the military domestically…

No way I would have paid any attention to this book, but yesterday NPR aired an interview with the author that was recorded before she was prevented from speaking about it. Totally going to read it now!
I had not heard of this book but now I am going to read it tonight.
WaPo's Ron Charles, in his Book Club newsletter, on Meta's repeated questions about his plans to review Sarah Wynn-Williams's "Careless People":

"In my 27 years of reviewing and editing newspaper books sections, no company has ever done this with me."
