This weekend I released something I've wanted to open source for a while - a lightweight port of EMF (Eclipse Modeling Framework) for TypeScript. It lets you do model-driven dev in TypeScript, and even has its own VS Code extension (TMF Ecore Editor).

Pretty darn good for a family that has never once produced a single thing of value.
💰Trump’s wealth increased by about $2.5B since his reelection, to $6.9B

💰 Eric’s increased 10x, to $400M.

💰 Don Jr.’s 6x, to $300M.

💰 Barron, a college sophomore, is worth $150M.

"And, sometimes, sure, a second strike might be required to finish the job, because you just don't know if the deer with the glowing nose is signaling to other bad santas to continue the mission"
Trump: We track Santa. We want to make sure that Santa is being good. We want to make sure that he's not infiltrated, that we're not infiltrating into our country a bad Santa. Santa loves Oklahoma like I do. You know, Oklahoma was very good to me in the election

The ability to casually refer to really any week of Trump's second term as a "slow news week" really tells you everything you need to know about how Bari Weiss views the world.
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

This is totally underreported. Trump is not just going after "illegals." He's going after people who were here legally, by changing their status.

These are people who entered the US the right way, and never broke a law. Now they are subject to Trump's whim, his ICE goons, and inhuman detention.
Trump has revoked legal status for at least 1.6 million immigrants over the past year by cancelling programs like TPS and student visas.

Remember: these are people who entered the country legally.

Trump never cared about “legal immigration" — just inflicting cruelty.

Honestly finding that immersion in Bluesky's intense hostility to LLMs is helpful to designing actually useful software around them.

Defaulting to skepticism strips away all sorts of "maybe this will work" time sinks - focus on the basic NLP magic while others try to make these stupid things think.

We continue to stand in solidarity with Denmark and Greenland.

Greenland is an autonomous territory in the Kingdom of Denmark. Any changes to that status are for Greenlanders and Danes alone to decide. (1/2)

Even in a prepared question, she doesn't understand the idiom she is trying to use - "spirit" and "intent" are the same thing, so Massie has to reinterpret it as "letter" since that would have been the non-gibberish version.
BRENNAN: This isn't everything you asked for just yet, but would you acknowledge that they are complying with the spirit if not the intent of your law?

MASSIE: No. They're flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It's very troubling the posture that they've taken.

Serious Question: Is it reasonable to expect there is a growing set of civil servants just waiting to be called to give matter-of-fact, horrifying testimony?

Because we got a good bit of that from J6 and they seem to be *way* more reckless these days.

At least once a week he says something that - if he were a D - would be a thermonuclear news story. It would consume the news cycle through impeachment and conviction, become the primary event by which their presidency was known, and a full paragraph in their obituary.
If the New York Times was waiting for a news hook to write a long-overdue story about how Trump is mentally unfit to be president, Trump has provided one today with his post saying Rob Reiner got murdered because he was mean to Trump.
Write it, NYT. End the normalization. @nytimes.com
