Anyone currently involved in federal immigration enforcement, every officer, every bureaucrat, every lawyer, every judge, is a member of the most evil group of people this country has seen since Reconstruction. Darkness personified, every one. Doing this to children is beyond depraved.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

asking jurors in a city occupied for months by the national guard to indict members of congress for telling servicemembers they don't need to obey unlawful orders, under a statute likely unconstitutional under the first amendment. masterful gambit sir

the primary reason rightwingers will never control culture is because everything they do is hinged upon it being a reaction to the broader culture. the TPUSA half time event would not exist without it being a representation of their grievences

My god.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

it's really, really nuts that our scrappy lil' non-profit media website employs more people in Kyiv than the Washington Post.

Also follow @lapatina.bsky.social she is awesome and smart and so brave
The Washington Post—for which I wrote editorials for nearly a decade—has closed its Kyiv bureau.

@lawfaremedia.org has not—and we will not.

We now employ more people in Kyiv than the Washington Post.

Let me tell you about what we have done in Ukraine over the past year and why we are not leaving

Fundamental obstacle is that what DHS is doing is so horrifying Rs cannot even implicitly acknowledge it.

Which means Ds and Rs cannot operate in a shared reality in which to compromise.
As I was saying,

While vetting the Epstein files, the FBI created a list of prominent names mentioned in the documents—and they noted which people had "salacious information" about them in the records. Trump was on the "salacious" list. Bill Clinton was not.

This sort of thing does seem like it validates @whstancil.bsky.social's argument that saturating state capacity is the way to go.
If DOJ is sending these teams to help charge cases, but only for "one or two weeks" at a time, then who is going to prosecute the cases after they leave?
Exclusive: DOJ is requiring all 93 US attorneys to designate prosecutors for "emergency jump teams" supporting surge districts dealing with assaults & obstruction of federal officers, per internal memo. Comes as more Minn. prosecutors resign. news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/...

People rag on Elon for exaggerating his accomplishments, but he has created a cringe singularity that previously would have required hundreds of kilometers of accelerator tunnels deep under the swiss alps.
You know, the richest man in history could afford to pay a real life Ed McMahon. He doesn’t have to pay people to program a chatbot to follow him around everywhere and tell him how great he is.

The bad: gas the kid, kidnap the kid, fuck the kid, it’s all in-policy for the Trump Administration.

The Trump Administration claims the agents who shot Alex Pretti have been put on administrative leave, notwithstanding Greg Bovino’s prior short statement that they were simply reassigned.

There is no reason to credit this assertion as truthful.
