There are “women only” cars on the Tokyo subway for a reason… and it’s not a good one.
My first thought on seeing them when I visited Tokyo (as a woman, pre-transition) was “they should have these everywhere”, but again why are we making shitty male behaviour a “womens problem”? Deal with THE MEN

I really feel for you. That’s the problem with this obsession with putting people in boxes - you can only be in one “box” at a time but that’s at complete odds with reality. It’s ridiculous really… plus there’s SO much to admire and treasure within the diversity of human experience

That intelligence and being forthright were coded as “masculine” again illustrates the insidious nature of gender bias, even in what I imagine was a context intended to deconstruct these biases. The reality is we’re all human beings first, above all other arbitrary categories that serve patriarchy

Misogyny is rooted in patriarchy, and trans ppl are a direct threat to that power structure in their rejection of it. Our existence challenges its very foundation. If gender truly were immutable, men wouldn’t need to constantly prove their “masculinity” through gender-affirming conflicts & violence

100% agree. Trans man here, but one of the biggest differences I noticed pre vs. post-transition was how I could suddenly express anger, frustration, injustice etc etc without immediately being invalidated or undermined as “hysterical” or “emotional”. Liberating, sure, but also darkly depressing
