Doug Ford might ban removal of a road lane for any purpose 🙂🔫
The "Fighting Delays, Building Faster" Act, appears to give the provincial government authority to ban any use of road space that takes away a lane of traffic - including bike lanes, and could include transit lanes, street festivals, and curbside patios:

I was driving from work when I noticed a police officer in his cruiser with a radar gun. Not hidden but not in plain sight

I was going the speed limit so I was fine but I was thinking, even if we only had police officers instead of cameras, we’d still have drivers say that enforcement is unfair

Noticed this was the City of Toronto.

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide!

It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers.

It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!

BRAD BRADFORD, WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER PODCAST.

I was having this thought for a few days but I think now it’s even more fitting,

Putting up more signs or lights as a way to reduce speeding and road violence is about as effective as thoughts and prayers for reducing gun violence.

Working as a transit planner at a transit agency is pretty darn cool. Highly recommend.

🚨🚨 City of Toronto is going to resurface Eglinton Ave between Keele and Mt Pleasant without the already approved bike lanes.

We need to do something right now.

Toronto: 🧑‍🦯👩‍🦯
NEW: 1km of Montreal’s Ste-Catherine Street will become permanently “pedestrian only” (less than perfect term since it will be a people-place for a LOT more than walking). 225+ new trees, vegetation-covered pits for rain drainage, more seating, illuminated canopy, financial help for businesses, etc.
Stretch of Ste-Catherine Street East to become pedestrian-only year-round | CBC News
The City of Montreal announced Friday their "ambitious" plans to transform a portion of Ste-Catherine Street East into a pedestrian road year-round, with redevelopment work starting in fall 2026.

I haven’t been back to Toronto in a few months. I’m visiting for a few hours. What new stuff should I check out in the central area? (Other than Biidaasige Park of course).

Why do people need to know it’s light rail?

Also these signs were different a few months ago. Metrolinx’s Wayfinding standards keep on changing so often, that the Eglinton station signs have to keep on being replaced 😐.

Great way to keep people employed I guess.

Anyone have advice for bike lights? My front one which I love because it’s super bright keeps on getting stolen 😐

I know y’all are going to say “just take it with you inside.” Well yeah, I do, but sometimes I may hop on my bike several times a day. I don’t want to keep on remembering to take them.

This but for Toronto and the lack of pedestrian streets.

And in the Netherlands, every other street and the city centres were pedestrianized
