Opinions are mine only of course.
We’re going to ask ourselves why we didn’t do this sooner.

Not to mention, they look identical to regular stations.

Yup, all e-bikes at a station is a good sign that it’s an e-station (charges bikes.) They don’t publicly say which stations charge bikes but there are clues 😏.

I really love riding over these actually. Occasionally I do a lil’ jump 😅

Yup. Huge issue. The university Avenue sidewalks were designed as suburban sidewalk for a few pedestrians, not the hordes of students walking on a very dense urban corridor. The dirt tells the story.

Cue the pending generic Olivia Chow tax dollars comment

Dude that pic is epic

Great thread. I stumbled into this place while mountain biking with a friend a few years ago and was amazed at what was in my backyard this whole time in the Don Valley.

My French professor put me on. It’s actually so good.

I’m just worried about the money being given to municipalities for speed bumps as an alternative will be used as a valid excuse. Sure some roads won’t be compatible but some money is being given. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a court challenge.

The expansion in to the suburbs the past few years has been focused on equity-deserving areas & NIA’s. It’s a positive goal but its clear they were put in just to expand the service area even if demand or use isnt there yet. Also we usually come in several years before the bike lanes actually arrive

Maybe we can have cameras that ticket illegal turns—
November 8, 2025 at 3:31 AM
It’s illegal to lean unfortunately

So pretty 🤩

This.

Apparently it’s going to be opened around 2031. By then it’s possible the GO service operations may allow the stopping at this station.

But isn’t it kinda ridiculous we didn’t plan for this??

We’re going have to rename it the UPL (Union-Pearson Local).

What a joke.

And that’s why I wanted to thank you and your team actually. It’s an incredibly high quality project. We can be unintentionally harsh at times.

A common complaint is that the white flexi-posts posts are ugly, that’s all. I get the purpose and versatility of course.
October 24, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Are they going to be the hard black bollards or those white flexi-posts? Would be a shame to reconstruct the road, only to put in those flexi-posts.

I’m curious why the standard switched? Didn’t it used to be the slightly elevated curb or the rolled curb?
