UPDATE: The National Park Service is *officially closing* Dupont Circle Park through World Pride weekend. Fencing is being put up around the park. NPS says the request came from U.S. Park Police as "necessary for the maintenance of public health and safety, and protection" of the park
Dupont Circle, the heart of D.C.'s historic LGBTQ neighborhood, will be closed to the public during #WorldPride this weekend. The National Park Service says the closure request came from D.C. Police, based on a “history and pattern of destructive and disorderly behavior” during past Pride weekends.

The Coalition is calling on Congress to release FY25 Historic Preservation Fund dollars now, before we lose staff, projects, and irreplaceable sites.

One way to show how much you value history—and evidence-based stories about the past—is to visit the historic sites in your community. I work for @historicnewengland.bsky.social, and we have 38 of them, almost all of which are open for free tours next Saturday. Stop by and check us out!
On Saturday, 6/7, our historic sites across the region are open and FREE to the public. Learn about the people who lived and worked at these sites and take the opportunity to enjoy the open spaces, beautiful gardens, and picturesque farm fields.

As one of Senator Slotkin's constituents: seriously, what fresh hell is this? Michigan is better than this, and better than the "woke is weak" line Senator Slotkin's been towing of late.
So Sen. Slotkin wants to cut the Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR). That’s just what it sounds like. It’s calculated to be the lowest wage possible to pay foreign guest workers, without having an adverse effect on American wages.

Respectfully asking @slotkin.senate.gov: what the fresh hell is this?
Instead of fighting to protect American workers, Elissa Slotkin told us she’s decided to work with the GOP to make it easier and cheaper to import vulnerable foreign guest workers.

How does THAT add up to a “war plan” against Trump?
