Beautiful double reflection in this still life of bread & wine by Isaack Luttichuys, whose day is today. Save this wine, you will need it later.

She was always THE woman. Looking right at you from 1590: Infanta Catalina Micaela (almost surely), painted by Sofonisba Anguissola (probably). Surely one of the greatest renaissance portraits.

Artist’s painting of an acrobatic dancer on a flake of limestone, c. 1292 - 1077 BC.

Around 3,000 years ago in ancient Egypt, artists used stone fragments for painting and drawing instead of paper sketchpads!

If nothing else, the last nine months should have made it clear that elections matter. But what’s remarkable about America is that we have the power, as citizens, to change this country by voting. Go to IWillVote.com.

It's #StandingStoneSunday 🥳 The triple stone alignment of Harold's Stones, Trellech, is depicted as a relief carving on Lady Probert's sundial of 1689, now in the local church

This shows the stones have barely changed in 3 centuries 😮

Arrested under terrorist charges, for trying to assert his freedom of speech. The final act of a colonial country is to bring legal lawlessness home. Quite astonishing disregard for justice or human rights. In the old days this is what was done in the colonies.

She called for innocent people to be burned alive.
Reform welcomed her with a rapturous ovation.

Revolting.
Lucy Connolly was convicted of inciting racial hatred, and her tweet was part of the tinder that lit violence, intimidation, looting, and thuggery across England last year.

The fact Reform conference gave her a standing ovation says everything about that movement.

The Martyrdom of Saint Lucy
The right is desperately seeking to make a martyr out of Lucy Connolly in order to distract from the real victims of the hate she helped to spread, argues Otto English
