Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

I agree that the BBC should apologise to Trump for being misleading.

Right after Trump apologises for the 30,573 false or misleading claims he made during his first presidency, or for each of his current daily average of 21 new lies per.

If a billionaire-owned media could convince people in the US to vote massively against their interests for a monster like Trump, it could do the same for a monster like Farage.

Unless all of us do everything we can, no matter how small, to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Horrifically he could be Prime Minister in around four years.

Today is St. Martin's Day, Old Halloween! 🍂
Marking the end of harvest/start of winter, it is a liminal time for bonfires, lantern processions, feasts and wine.
Welsh folklore tells us to watch out for eerie omens: owls hoot, meteors fall & the Cŵn Annwn (spectral hounds) roam.

If I had only 6 letters to describe Britain, they would be NHS-BBC.

Both have been under sustained attack by politicians for over decade.

And I would be dishonest if I didn’t point out the BBC has played a major role in attacking our NHS.

Nevertheless, both are utterly essential to our democracy.

A brilliant example of what Lewis Goodall talks about when he argues why right-wing radicals keep winning. They don't play by the rules and simply don't care. Whereas the institutions they want to destroy do even when said rules are contorted to absurdity and are blatantly being used against them.
The founder of Newsmax was just on the Today programme pontificating about bias. Boy, the BBC loves to submit itself to flagellation.

As I’ve seen this confused a few times, please note that Robin Gibb was a much-beloved member of the Bee Gees, whilst Robbie Gibb is the BBC board member who also, totally coincidentally, was editorial adviser in the set-up of GB News.

I know, Bee Gees, GBeebies, a bit confusing…

Well, this is quite a serious allegation. I do hope the BBC shows true impartiality and investigate whether or not some of its Board members are systemically biased. www.theguardian.com/media/2025/n...

The "appropriate response" is to broadcast everything that Trump did and said on that appalling day for American democracy and then to tell this moron to sling his hook.
I might be wrong, but this stinks of Pharage involvement.

The BBC should meet Trump's demands in advance by announcing - soon - a programme in the Panorama slot, and advertising it across BBC networks. The programme would play Trump's 6 January 2021 speech in full, unedited and without comment.
