Kazuki Takahashi was way too generous in his depiction of grown-ass men who do way too much for children's trading cards when he was writing Yu-Gi-Oh.

We are just keeping them being the customer service desk and are advised to not disclose stock to customers anymore.

Over the years I have grown to understand that Nintendo wasn't, like, the end-all pillar of creativity we thought they were, they just took inspiration from a bunch of stuff that was unknown in America for a long time, making it seem fresh and totally new.
I imagine that the entirety of Metroid's creation was "I watched Alien that was neat, but also I was watch Space Adventure Cobra and that arm cannon is cool and there's this English word 'bounty hunter' I'm gonna use that it sounds cool"
