Sega of America's "2nd generation" Dreamcast aesthetic was a tremendous downgrade. The white packaging was bold, unique, a perfect fit for the system's future-focused Y2K vibe.
The black just looks like they're trying to trick people into thinking these are PlayStation games so they might buy them.

Oh 100 percent, even when I *loved* SA2, I still loved SA1 more, and I've only gotten more affectionate toward it over the years.
SA2 basically set the standard that almost every 3D Sonic game would follow & refine, but we've never really gotten another one made in the shape of SA1.

I think you've got to look at the bigger picture. Along with the first Mario movie and the theme park, Bananza is the capstone of Nintendo's efforts over the past few years to re-establish DK as one of its key IPs.
