I really like Chaos Island, Kingdom Valley, and (actual for real) Radical Highway though, and of course they're the ones that *don't* do any of that. I don't think it's as challenging or speedy as OG Gens, but it's definitely good stuff.

When it's good it's REALLY good. But a good chunk of the levels are bogged down by unskippable cutscenes and nonsense where Black Doom takes you to Radical Highway AGAIN so he can blather at you for minutes at a time and you do little more than hold forward, which *really* hurts the replay value.

The upside is that if they do a similar model again, they'll pretty much HAVE to make new level design this time. We'll see how it goes! I do at least trust 'em to keep Sonic focused on being a speedy action-platformer, based on what Iizuka has said in interviews.

Main issues: The lack of emphasis on replay value or unique zone themes. I don't want the main thing I love about Sonic to be turned into tertiary/optional content, but that's how cyberspace treats it. And most of them are pretty short and straightforward, they just don't scratch that itch.

But if it doubles down on what I didn't like about Frontiers, I'll prolly wait for a Black Friday sale... :V Like it's a Sonic game, I'm not gonna just NOT play it, but there is a viable path to alienating me and I hope they don't take it!

Anyway, I'll probably get it on PC. *Especially* if it still has a Switch 1 version, meaning my elderly computer won't have any trouble running it. Otherwise, or if I just *really* like it, I might get the Switch 2 version as well.

Honestly, Frontiers + SOAP Shoes is prolly my favorite Modern Sonic model anyway, and Superstars is easily the best the character has ever looked in 3D. So I guess I just don't have much to complain about when it comes to this stuff!

True, but also in SFA the name of the planet where everyone speaks this language is "Dinosaur Planet" and is also untranslated.
Or maybe it actually IS translated and the planet's name is just actually Nuweciab Xviwod.
