You know, my preference has always been “in prison from end-stage syphilis,” but I’ll take the news however.

REMEMBER: If you hear a song and the song has a xylophone in it, that song is about a SKELETON.

This is the best advice for how to be better at ANYTHING in TTRPGs. Be a fan of the other people and their roles. Love the other PCs. Admire the DM and get excited for their work. Geek out over the stuff your friends at the table are doing and want them to be happy!

Everything else will work out.
RPG tip: Be the characters' biggest fan.

Sick of everything being Orwellian or Kafkaesque. I demand more Scarrylous situations, where animals drive vehicles and run small businesses.

RIP Peter David.
I'm probably not a comic book writer today without reading Peter David's X-Factor #87 when I was younger. It opened my eyes to superheroes in ways I hadn't really considered until that moment. Though I didn't know him, he left such a mark on my life and I'll always be grateful.

Actually the best life advice I ever got: Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. A half-cleaned room is better than an uncleaned room. Occasionally flossing is better than never flossing. A 10-minute workout is better than no workout. When it’s all you can do to get out of bed, get out of bed.

I know the world is crumbling, but today I found out the actor who played the butler Carson on Downton Abbey was Deja Vu in Top Secret.

Cleaned out a box full of graduate school catalogues and unfilled applications for History programs. I feel a distinct mix of wistful might-have-beens and gratitude for bullets-dodged.
