Researchers had people do a memory task, take a 10-min break (rest, Twitter, YouTube, or TikTok), then resume.

Result? Only TikTok wrecked their ability to remember planned intentions. After scrolling, accuracy dropped from ~80% to basically coin-flip levels. Twitter & YouTube? No effect.

Here are four of the weirdest zones I’ve come across in 2025
an enclosed structure shaped like a really weird car at the Samsung centre in London, with a big sign that says “Race Warm Up Zone”. inside are lots of screens and desks with gaming PCs a sign hung up on the metal barrier around a construction site says “Do not enter. Tree Protection Zone” a sign on a metal post sunk into gravel says “Daytime Car Burglary Zone”, and warns you against leaving anything in your car. it suggests you report all incidents to the San Francisco police on a sign at the entrance to a shop: “Food-Free Fashion Zone. Please don’t eat in store”

I put a Mexican flag sticker on my old Tacoma abd was promptly pulled over by ICE in San Antonio. foone on tumblr Hey fun fact: at one point around 2006, moot of 4chan fame was wanting to build a new feature where 4chan users could list where they were located and meet up. It was gonna be called like "4meet" but the goal he had in mind was always that it could be used as a dating service, for 4chan users. Unfortunately, the programmer working on it ran into a bunch of problems (mainly ADHD motivation issues) and it never got completed, and the programmer was fired. That programmer was me. You're fucking welcome. Imagine how much worse the world would be had 4chan included a fucking DATING SERVICE.
