Midwestern business goof. ;D since 1923.
A defensive-focused snooze fest of a game with 5+ AI companies, crypto, de-aged celebs, gambling, and appetite suppressants as the main ads? Awful! At least I ate some deeeeelicious snacks.

Read Bad Company by @greenwell.bsky.social. It's one story you probably know (Toys r us) and three that you might not know all on the extent of private greed and shortsightedness. Could be a huge bummer but she finds great stories of people banding together to reclaim the mission from the business.

My old campus had more pro-Trump chalk art than you'd expect during 2016 and after, so this isn't hugely shocking. There are some awful folks in this great state!

We have a finite amount of time to spend thinking while on this earth and I am very resentful of how much of it has been monopolized by the whims of a demented old real estate scumbag

Yeah...every new game has to compete with everything else in its release window...and every other game before it. It's rough out there.
Only 14% of total time spent in new releases seems bad for new releases.

What a horrible time to be an artist of any kind. Already, every creative pie has been sliced into ever-tinier pieces by the huge number of people making art. Games, for example, published per month on Steam have DOUBLED since 2020! There's only so many new buyers!

Baffling move. Pathetic abandonment of all artistic soul and short sighted to the extreme. The only ways this makes sense are to cut costs and quality (obvious; terrible long term strategy) or to enter into some agreement to demolish OpenAI if they can't keep its IP secure (I can hope).

Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

YES this is perfect because I keep thinking that he was in Season 1 of American Vandal anyway, the connection finally makes sense!

Depressing end to the FlyQuest season. That second game was a jungler's nightmare! Interested to see who sticks around for next year.

Vaccines are safe and effective.

Autism isn't caused by vaccines, and autistic people and their families deserve our support.

When you want information, ask your doctor.

It's more important than ever for all of us to speak plainly, truthfully, and directly about public health.

This bodes well.
My colleagues at Bloomberg report that the $20 billion debt in the EA deal is expected to be rated single-B — meaning it is considered a "junk" loan, or one that is high-risk and speculative, typically offering high interest rates. Which the new EA will have to pay

Would you believe...it's still pretty funny even today? Some canned bits get stale across episodes but Smart's such a good buffoon.
“Get Smart” premieres 60 years ago tonight, on NBC.

“I was sick of looking at all those nice, sensible situation comedies,” Mel Brooks said. “They were such distortions of life. .. No one had ever done a show about an idiot before. I decided to be the first.”
