Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

YES this is perfect because I keep thinking that he was in Season 1 of American Vandal anyway, the connection finally makes sense!
Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda will write, executive produce and showrun the #Superman movie TV spinoff to star Skyler Gisondo, who played Daily Planet photographer and unlikely ladies’ man Jimmy Olsen: bit.ly/4hSZvnR

Depressing end to the FlyQuest season. That second game was a jungler's nightmare! Interested to see who sticks around for next year.

Vaccines are safe and effective.

Autism isn't caused by vaccines, and autistic people and their families deserve our support.

When you want information, ask your doctor.

It's more important than ever for all of us to speak plainly, truthfully, and directly about public health.

This bodes well.
My colleagues at Bloomberg report that the $20 billion debt in the EA deal is expected to be rated single-B — meaning it is considered a "junk" loan, or one that is high-risk and speculative, typically offering high interest rates. Which the new EA will have to pay

Would you believe...it's still pretty funny even today? Some canned bits get stale across episodes but Smart's such a good buffoon.
“Get Smart” premieres 60 years ago tonight, on NBC.

“I was sick of looking at all those nice, sensible situation comedies,” Mel Brooks said. “They were such distortions of life. .. No one had ever done a show about an idiot before. I decided to be the first.”

This is in the replies and it demonstrates a real issue which is if you find profundity from an AI, you’re responding to something profound a human being wrote that was vacuumed up and what ends up happening is you thank AI and not only don’t thank the person, you have no idea they were involved

I guess the Orange Box didn't count since I got it physically? I paid $5 for BG&E and it was still too much. Wish the PA games finished in the same style, but oh well!

The order of science:

1.) Discover there’s a deadly problem
2.) Work for years to solve it
3.) The problem may not be gone forever, but we’ve won
4.) People forget the deadly problem actually existed
5.) People decide this must mean the science to solve it was a hoax
6.) The deadly problem returns
Yeah. In 2013 I door-to-door canvass to get my city to fluoridate the water. Conversations went like this:

Me: I used to be an environmental chemist.
Them: 😀
Me: I used to test drinking and wastewater.
Them: So you’re against fluoride?
Me: No, I support it!
Them: 😡 (woo jibberish)
