I know, my friend,
that at times you suspect
you have a tendency
to catastrophize,
but know, my friend,
the terror you feel
upon seeing the headline
“Trump Administration Erases
the Government’s Power
to Fight Climate Change,”
is not catastrophizing,
but an appropriate response.

Thank you, Tod. Amid the heartbreak, I am profoundly grateful to be Canadian. I don't know if it can make a difference at such a searingly painful moment, but I hope the people of Tumbler Ridge are at least aware of how much love and caring is being directed their way by the rest of Canada.
We can’t always prevent the worst, but we can decide who we are when it happens. #tumblerridge

These concentration camps are a threat to everyone, citizen or not. It was never about immigration.

When dissent gets you put on a watch list, and due process has become near non-existent, no one is safe.

If you aren't outraged, you really aren't paying attention.

Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

By the way, for those of you not in MN: Homan’s strategy was to withdraw some agents, so it felt like we were in the denouement of the crisis, and then escalate hard against observers. They’re being incredibly aggressive with observers now. National media may not want to check out just yet

The Washington Post has laid off every reporter and editor covering the Middle East and Ukraine. Looks like Trump doesn’t want any reporting of those critical areas.

Approximately 40% of the American people approve of the fascism, the bigotry, the violence, the cruelty?! If this is accurate, it is breathtakingly bad.
A majority of Americans disapprove of the job President Donald Trump is doing in office, according to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist Poll. to.pbs.org/4aeohM2

i want this for canada too, and it will only come through dependable public funding of journalism along the lines that exist in some european (particularly nordic) countries.

we need to stop letting conservatives and old-guard figures who arose in a different era try to discredit public funding.
I want smaller newspapers with actual fact-based reporting made by people who are paid more to work less and I'm not kidding.

Tesla reported paying ZERO federal income tax on $5.7 billion of U.S. income in 2025.

Meanwhile, thanks to his new Tesla pay package, Elon Musk could stand to make $3 billion more per year than all 1.4 million elementary school teachers in the U.S. combined.

This Member of Congress finally got access to the Minneapolis detention center and her report is genuinely appalling. Please watch and share.
My office has been flooded with reports of the cruel, unsafe, unlawful conditions inside of the Whipple detention facility in Minneapolis.

This weekend, I was finally granted access to perform oversight of the facility. youtu.be/0SxPn8n2Bfg

Yes, we had a major snow event.

Yes, the city is triaging, and many sidewalks in particular still need work.

But it's been a week and arterial bikeways are remain unrideable and worse appear to be dumping grounds for snow-clearing.

What's the plan, Toronto?

I’m fond of Canadians who love many things about this country but balance that love with the recognition that we share a lot of the same systems of oppression with the United States and can’t simply reduce everything to Canada good, America bad.
