Just got an email notice from me bridge club. From now on the dominant suit will be called wanker instead of Trump.
Me too. Can't help it - you're so damn handsome!
Little something about me: Whenever I'm on a Zoom call I am looking at myself the entire time.

Teaching kids zero sum thinking early is evil. Glad that might be understood somewhere.
NBC ran a piece where Mary Carrillo went to Norway to find out why they're so good at the Winter Olympics and i was yelling BECAUSE IT'S COLD THERE

then she went to a little tiny ski jump for kids and was like "it's free, equipment is provided, & they don't emphasize results"

and i was like.
oh!

One of the things that personally drives me crazy in the U.S. is how youth sports/athletic activities went from a part of the public good (municipal leagues and fields! rec centers! public parks!) to a privatized, expensive, highly competitive, highly structured pursuit for wealthy kids’ résumés

One team attempted some gamesmanship that caught everyone by surprised. When it threatened the sport's integrity everyone got together and decided to put their common interest first.
But that's a dull story innit. True, but dull.

You need a lot of contingency pads on a long flight
NASA is preparing to install the Contingency Pad Access Arms onto Mobile Launcher 1 at LC-39B. These are new structures designed to allow technicians to access the Core Stage and Booster Flight Termination System batteries at the pad to retest them in the event of an extended pad stay.

Now do pop music
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

Maybe just cut the ballooning section? I know there's an "art" to making all those little animals but it's a bit gimmicky. Not high art like, oh, I don't know, a Damien Hirsch cow in a box.
Is it time for a tourism tax if even our biggest arts institutions are struggling this much?

And this is after blockbuster exhibitions (Van Gogh) & successful philanthropy, so think how much tougher it must be for more local-regional galleries and museums

National Gallery to make major cuts in effort to stem ballooning deficit
Move could mean fewer free exhibitions and paid-for shows and more expensive tickets

Was a little tipsy walking home from the pub last night, slipped on a bit of ice, slid down a hill and across a frozen pond. Beat the Norwegian and got gold.

You don't get this clarity from the city of Powell River. Course clarity isn't really your friend if you a) don't know what you're doing and b) don't want people to see you don't know what you're doing.
