As a hard core lefty, I long for the return of sensible, small government, anti-interventionist conservatives. Today’s right wing seems to consist largely of vandals bent on tearing shit apart.

Christians protesting injustice, oppression, nationalism, and the use of our sacred scriptures to justify evil isn’t “causing division.”

Sounds like Jesse’s dad raised a good kid.
I was reading an article about the cancellation of food aid to Minnesota, and it reminded me of a story about my dad. He was a vet, an organizer and very deeply involved in his church. And one day he stood up and asked a question: “what the f*ck’s the point of having a church?”

@Listened to Episode 16 of @thisamericanlife.org today, from 1997. They started out talking to four “moderate” Republicans who were worried that their nominee, Bob Dole wasn’t moderate enough.

Sweet summer children, is all I have to say. I would love if they could find those four people today.

Had serious #NewYorkMarathon FOMO today. Had a spot in the race but withdrew because I just can’t travel to that country. Did my long run thinking about my other favourite marathon major, especially after hearing the Illinois governor’s comments to the teachers.
