Solidarity is not transactional.

If you're supporting someone's human rights only out of the expectation they'll do the same, you don't understand solidarity.

Everyone deserves human rights. Everyone, everywhere.

And no one is free until we all have them.

A helpful way of thinking about this: political capital is a singular resource. You don’t lose “kill the trans people” capital and not also lose “wreck the government” capital. Also, time and attention are bounded resources. You can’t do everything at once.

When the the enemy has superior numbers, you don't go force-on-force. You have to adopt insurgency tactics.

All insurgencies are based on two simple principles:

1. Survive by denying the enemy the choice of time and place.

2. Impose a cost on everything the enemy tries to do.

This should be required reading for everyone. The breakdown here is critical in understanding action and in this case, lack of action.

Everyday I'm on alternative social media sites, I am reminded that it's important to build #community offline and outside of political parties, especially the latter. I'm also realizing that many of us don't actually know how to do that and it's important we learn. 1/2(?)

I want people in the service and in other areas to be loud when decisions like these are made. Much like the companies, I decided to uphold DEIA in their businesses. It needs to be the same level of resistance.
