🧵 We are, in fact, doing the thing again for @onesimplewish.bsky.social. In 2024, the kind people of this community put the money cannon on blast to help grant $75K in wishes for children in foster care. Toys, tech, a suit for job interviews. Here we go again! 👇

“One of the things that really gives me joy is the fact that there are so many amazing, brilliant, creative disabled people out there. But part of my rage — and it’s a very real rage — is that most people don’t really know about them.”

What the fuck is the walking jack-o’-lantern talking about?
WTF RFK Jr.: "I know what a healthy child is supposed to look like. I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today...and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges...and I know that’s not how our children are supposed to look."

Imagine going back to 1994 and showing this to someone.
Snoop Dogg says he’s 'scared to go to the movies now' because of a lesbian couple being depicted in 'Lightyear'

"We're watching it ... my grandson is like, 'Papa Snoop, how'd she have a baby with a woman?' ... I didn't come here for this shit"

Norm McDonald crawling out of Tom Cruise like Laura Flynn Boyle tearing her way through Tangina’s body in Poltergeist 3.
We should be so lucky
When did Tom Cruise turn into Norm Macdonald

While I don’t enjoy any of this, I do take small comfort from how scared they are. Hope so day they spiral out on their shame, fear, and self loathing.
Truly psychedelic to live through the criminalization of mask use for health reasons while these fucks mutate into the secret police.

I'm glad to see this, but it is so weird to me that this wasn't the line from the beginning.
Several Texas House Democrats are speaking outside the chamber as they prepare to rip their "permission slips." Rep. Rhetta Bowers says she is standing now with Nicole Collier, and that "we are being subjected to extreme and unnecessary measures" with this DPS surveillance.

One of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had was watching Hereditary. The tense quiet in that screening, where you could barely breathe w/o making noise, until the car accident where there was this explosion from the audience. Then people could not keep the sounds inside them until the end.
In “Nope” a group of teens were in front. Not rude or obnoxious, but noise from shifting through popcorn and bags of candy on/off. The scene with the “abduction” forced a silence I’ve never experienced in a theatre prior, broken only by a bag of spilling M&Ms.
Oddly satisfying
Got me thinking.. What's the strongest reaction you've seen an audience member have to a scene in a cinema?

During the birthday party scene in SIGNS I saw a whole row of young women literally throw their popcorn in the air like a cartoon.
