Keir Starmer's political strategy of trying to position himself as Farage with better administrative skills would be morally reprehensible even if it were working.

It does not appear to be.
It's hard to understand what Starmer was apologising for on his 'island of strangers' comments when he's now apparently perfectly happy putting out obvious racist bait like this

The reason Elon made Grok in the first place was because he assumed OpenAI was turning the secret “woke” dial up too high and small parameter tweaks could make it right-wing. Now he has realized the only way to get the AI to agree with him is to lobotomize it by rewriting the entire training set.

Something worth remembering about immigration: it's not a choice between values and pocketbook. You get both. The best evidence is that immigration enriches us all. If you want to convince yourself, imagine the USA didn't ban Chinese immigration in 1882, or immigration more broadly in 1924.

Starmer doesn't seem to realise that, if you consistently accept the way your opponents frame a question, you'll find it hard to reject the answers that they give.

If you keep telling voters that Farage is right in his analysis, it will be hard to persuade them that he's wrong in his prescriptions.

a society where "bad immigrants" are demonised is a society where no immigrant can truly feel welcome, because aren't we all just one wrong turn or accident away from being unemployed? on disability benefits? unable to care for our children without state help? just no such thing as a safe immigrant

My Trade Secrets today.

It's a longstanding American grievance that predates Trump: US companies can't sell cars in Europe & elsewhere because of evil trade barriers. It's actually because US protectionism has encouraged its carmakers to make clunky great gas-guzzlers no one else wants to buy.

Trump can’t run again. It’s very simple. If he does it’ll be struck down by the Supreme Court. If they don’t there won’t be much left of the US constitutional order.

In addition, he’ll likely be too old and too unpopular to run in 2028 even if he were constitutionally able.

TRUMP: Ummmm ... it's an interesting question. I think they have to make peace. That was not a good war to go into.
