Look it's completely accurate that mainstream US journalists don't know what these references are

but ALSO they don't know what Politics is. They never stood a chance.
Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”

This is why we need to be telling our stories.

This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

These are local police.

If you were sceptical about "Abolish ICE" a few years ago, please ask yourself if you're making the same error about local PD now.

I've heard this kind of thing from electeds before and it's frankly disgusting. The morality of your words and votes are fair game. If you don't like it you shouldn't be in the big chair.

Also all the clergy is this article are legends.

Just do normal stuff for a while and these guys will all show up and tell on themselves.

This is the most important one thing to know about NY politics in 2026.

Even though Hochul will win the primary + the general, and many of our Left electeds will endorse her, the rank + file Left must campaign hard and vote against her in the primary to shift the balance of power in the state.
I usually avoid sharing what feels like "inside baseball" political analysis here, but this merits an exception because of the stakes + scale involved.

Zohran isn't "wrong" to endorse Hochul; he has no choice. But for primary voters to back Hochul would definitely be unwise. Let me explain why. 🧵
NEW: Mayor Mamdani is set to endorse Gov. Hochul’s reelection run this week, providing her a critical inroad with progressive voters, per four sources.

It deals a near fatal blow to Antonio Delgado's campaign.

It would be darkly hilarious if the key to the epistemological knot Adam Tooze describes as Polycrisis were simply, "World events were driven by elite pedophiles who prioritized their child sex pipelines and collective chumminess over rational administration of nations and firms."

This is tremendous. Take the time to watch it.
Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

A genuinely more interesting article would be. ’These people were correct about the Republicans becoming facsist long before most. What allowed them to get it right, when I and many other ’mainstream thinkers’ got it wrong for so long and how does that inform how we act next.’

But I do have one question.

When you get to your little place in El Centro, I imagine you are going to take off that handsome-looking Border Patrol uniform of yours.

A reminder that the awful & illegal things keep happening & have since 1865, because there are never any actual legal consequences.

This is a global far right power grab, so the sooner everybody realizes that and puts aside their deeply outdated notions around national identity, which got us here to begin with, the better. You know what's cheaper and more reliable than training and body cams? Never hiring ICE and CBP agents in the first place. Simply not having any of those guys. That would do the trick sure as God made gooseberries.
Minibus is out. Democrats were able to include some guardrails in about ICE:
-restricts ICE to spending $3.8 billion of its annual budget
on detention as opposed to being able to spend $10 billion
-$20 million that must be used for body cameras 1/
