Ukraine's future should be decided by itself and Russia
Starmer had to clean this up. So incompetent

Not even the sad pretense of "being greeted as liberators"; the Yanks learned the lessons of Israel all too well - you can just do whatever, drop the mask, blow it up because you're America or it's Special Little Guy.

Tbf when's the last time any US president bothered to ask for permission before blowing up forrins? Lots of people are just scandalised because this is the mask-off version.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

The weak response from Can, EU and UN to Trump's flagrant crimes in Venezuela is striking.

It exposes that much of the world has been cowed.

Most notable exception: the Latin American left.

That is why the Trump Admin has gone to enormous lengths to defeat the left across the continent. 1/3

Britain is number one worm! Awoooga!
Starmer asked to respond to Trump breaking international law and seizing the leader of another sovereign nation replies that it is his "responsibility" to have a good relationship with the US President.

"I have stepped up that responsibility [and] I do get on with President Trump," he tells the BBC

"Maduro is a brutal authoritarian dictator," I wisely intone, as the corrupt demented paedophile US President violating Constitutional Law while operating a gestapo and concentration camps illegally arrests a foreign leader on charges which read like they were written on a paper placemat in crayon.

So, just as a hypothetical; could any other country now overrun the presidential detail and toss Trump in their jail? Or does it *somehow* not work like that?

Cannot wait for the grovelling, stammering gibberish about shared values whenever Kieth gets asked about this new round of US war crimes

A few years ago, the "serious liberal papers" made absolute dipshits like Jordan B. Benzos 'dark enlightenment thinkers' that we had to take seriously. Couldn't help but notice that Curtis is getting the same treatment of normalising fascism and even dumber "thinking" now.

Have neoliberalism and technology stopped delivering for most people and curdled into incipient fascism and gigantic inequality, and we're mad about it?

No. It's the dang phones.

"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.
