One of the biggest drivers of high housing costs is that a small, highly motivated group of incumbent homeowners block new housing in their neighborhoods and almost no one is organized to push back.

I’m one of many who believe our Vancouver waterfront should have more things to go to. Here’s one I’ve been advising & helping with— HAVN now has a proposed site in Vancouver for a floating sauna boat. They have one in Victoria already. This is great and all but it's also a damning indictment of NYC housing policies over the last 55 years.

It's crazy that we have this incredible concert venue in the midst of Berkeley but we severely limit the number of shows to appease a handful of NIMBYs who apparently weren't aware that there was a university here when they bought their homes. Thousands of people vs dozens.
