Imagine if health care was just something everyone had, and not a zero sum competition between "good" people and "bad" people
Mike Johnson: "If you're a young, pregnant American citizen women who shows up in an ER and you get treated and they pay the hospital less for treating you than some illegal rabble rouser who came in from some South American country to do us harm, that is wrong."

Your periodic reminder that people who blame “mental illness” for every mass shooting want to make it easier for people to get guns and harder for people to get mental healthcare.

We are deep into the era of performative nonsense as the highest value product.
From influencers to ‘government’ it’s all about lying on a little screen for money and fame.
Hollow is our god.
Lies are our currency.
Emptiness is our religion.

Congratulations America.
After almost 250 years you’ve decided to let the bullies win.
Home of the brave, really???

There’s nothing more republican than forcing you to birth a child and then celebrating in congress when you’re unable to feed it.

Final vote. 50-50. VP breaks the tie.

One single GOP Senator could have stopped this abomination. Saved millions of parents from watching their child go hungry. Saved the lives destroyed when Medicaid disappears.

They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.

There are only three political positions in America today

1) I like the fascism

2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc)

3) I oppose the fascism

The rest is details

NANCY PELOSI: We must find the next generation of Democratic leadership. Young, charismatic and exciting candidates who can energize the party. People that voters love because they're not 80 years old and sold out to big capital.

If your HVAC guy looked at your Air Conditioner and said, “I don’t know how to fix this, but I’ll pray on it”, you would sack him and type a one-star yelp review so fast your fingers would catch fire.

So why do we tolerate it from our politicians?

We absolutely did.

/3 What we’re seeing with the accelerating collapse of America is that the things we see as guardrails are not self-enforcing — they rely on norms and values and when those norms and values are ignored or defied the guardrails no longer work.

Senior officers of the United States military have an obligation to speak up and be leaders. Where is the Army chief of staff? Will he or others speak truth to the commander in chief and put a stop to the assault on the integrity of his troops? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
The Silence of the Generals
As President Donald Trump crossed a dangerous line at Fort Bragg, the Army’s brass failed to speak out in its defense.
