Aw man 😞 Rest in peace Mr Cheifet, host of Computer Chronicles: obits.goldsteinsfuneral.com/stewart-chei...

What a legend. His work in both presenting and preserving the early days of computer history has been (and will continue to be) deeply appreciated! My condolences to his family and friends.

I'm hoping to release my latest ultra-comprehensive gold-standard 6502 disassembly in the next few days.

It's been four months in the making and is almost complete.

Elite, Aviator, Revs, Lander… and now this.

Let the countdown begin: 🤖🪨🌲

I've made progress on #ECOBJ, my next tool rewrite from the #Psion SIBO C SDK. I can now break down a Relocatable Object Module File (OMF) enough to see what the original ECOBJ.EXE does.

Want to see some questionable #Pascal? Here's the repo: codeberg.org/thelastpsion...

ecobj
This will become a tool to manipulate 16-bit OMF object files, moving the class descriptor data into the code segment. It will eventually be a drop-in replacement for the Psion SIBO C SDK's ECOBJ.EXE.

Yesterday evening while OH's family played board games, I was reading about the structure of `FIXUPP` records in the Relocatable Object Module Format.

They're used to me by now.

How about a little #Psion gaming for the holiday season! @cyningstan.bsky.social has written a brand new game for the original Series 3 entirely in OPL. I've got it running on my 3mx. The added EL backlight adds an ethereal feeling to the play.

Beta testing is going well on the Dragonfell project. I've changed up the title screen, with an image that can also be used for the manual cover, Itch banner and anywhere else that warrants full colour and high resolution. #gamedev #Psion #PsionSeries3

Calling all former BT engineers! Did you ever have one of these? It's actually a Psion Organiser II LZ64 but BT had a bunch made for them, rebadged as the P464, and with its own "Kilostream" software that only works via the Comms Link. Please reshare, as I'm keen to learn more about how it works!

The beautiful old Psion handheld computers remain a classic - retro, yet properly useful in daily life and work. I wouldn't be without mine, and my Discord buddy is writing *new games* for them. There's a hugely supportive community of us nutters - join us! psion.community

#Psion #OrganiserII OPL had no facility to write binary data files, so the game data had to be compatible with the Organiser II's database file format. The 240 limit for many elements is from this. damian.cyningstan.org.uk/downloads/21... #barbarians #gamedev

Did you know that the Complete ZX Spectrum source code has been uploaded to Internet Archive by Timex. It was written by Nine Tiles on Zilog Development Studio and Timex obtained the same software.
A bit dry but there is a FART joke in there. See the last file.

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

It's not just Polymatt's ideas that make him a genius, it's also his attitude. He demonstrates a methodology that is centred around the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. The result is that the 'unsaveable' was saved.

Incredible.
New video up! Just finished the massive project of restoring/rebuilding @lgr-yt.bsky.social’s destroyed Chaplet Halikan LA-30A. This was a big one 😅. Enjoy!
