I can’t emphasize this enough: Leave it where it falls. Get out of there. You can’t help anyone with burning eyes and a surging torrent of snot. Which is what you will have.
Most gloves are nowhere near good enough for the temperatures of tear gas grenades.

At my annual World Trade Center Health Program checkup between a guy slathered in Vicks VapoRub and a guy coated in Tiger Balm, and thanks to them everyone’s sinuses are clear and our aches and pains eased.
