If this is your response to that Dick Van Dyke "rules of a happy life" piece I reposted yesterday, I can think of one more thing you can fuck, friendo...
Cancer is, more or less, random, so the 1st rule for a happy life is good luck

so fuck his rules

also, getting good DNA from your parents helps avoid a lot of chronic disease

so fuck his rules again

Today is my first day as a sports writer at @cnn.com. I'll be covering all sports, not just baseball (but also baseball, see you back at the ballpark come spring!) and I want to dig in especially on the weird, the niche, the nontraditional, and youth sports. So get at me with stories in that realm.

I hope everyone has a restful Sunday. A couple of wonderful people have helped this weekend, and it has really lifted my spirits. I’m still hopeful we can close this out this weekend. If you can help or share, I’d really appreciate it!!

Chiefs fans were super-excited about beating up on my bum-ass Raiders. Maybe they should play them every week? Can they petition the commissioner?

the weird thing is, that while it's still a lot more expensive than it used to be, the only way to make it cheaper is to use their app and rewards, which lower income people probably can't do, and everyone else is forced to trade in a ton of data to make eating there somewhat worth it

Can't remember the last time I ate McDonald's. This can't be right, can it?

Just beyond infuriating. City officials promised an opportunity for shelter for those impacted by their freeway encampment sweeps and instead continues to play a cruel shell game with people’s lives

Shelter requests surged after San Diego began clearing freeway camps. Almost all failed.
A lack of spots means only 7% of pleas for a bed recently succeeded. ‘I can’t get in.’

I’ll never understand how weather works as a resident of the Best Coast. It rained ALL DAY in the Rancho Bernardo section of San Diego and we got less than an inch of rain lol

One of my favorite things on these apps laid out in reverse chronological order is that I’ll see the initial wave of reaction to something abominable, then when I get to the source, it’s somehow worse than I imagined. Take a bow, New York Times

Endlessly fascinated by dudes like Leary. Pitched for 13 seasons. His best three seasons (1986, 1988, 1989) totaled 9.3 bWAR combined. Other 10 seasons, 2.7 bWAR combined 🤷🏾
one of my great memories as a kid was tim leary getting a walk-off hit in extra innings -- as a pinch-hitter! -- to beat the giants
