Okay, where exactly did the "Genetically Enhanced Super Dolphin" trope originate from?? I've seen it all over '80's sci-fi. The Dolphins often end up being used as bio-computers/navigators

I think you can sort of repeat the point about Beowulf within Old English poetry by looking at OE poetry within OE in general.
The surviving verse corpus is at once large for a European vernacular in those centuries, and small set against the surviving OE prose.

I have known people thrill equally at passages I slammed out in the heat of inspiration & at passages I contrived like a watchmaker & I am not sure what if anything that reveals about creativity.
