Woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back asleep so that’s book 2 “The Imposition of Unnecessary Obstacles” finished as well. Very enjoyable!

We’re heading home in the morning though so I’m gonna attempt to catch some hours instead of starting another book
Good news! The library had the next e-book in the series ready to borrow immediately

Book for this cabin trip has been “The Mimicking of Known Successes” which I very much enjoyed but now it’s finished and I’ll need to find another book to read.

Thread. “AI is patching up the holes in conspiracy theories and so making them seem more reasonable, making them easier to spread and more resilient to collapse” was not on my bingo card.

AI relieves the pressure of cognitive dissonance. That’s … not great.
Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

Hey! Northern hemisphere folks:

this is my annual reminder to myself and perhaps also to you that if you have the schedule autonomy to permit it, get out for a walk or whatever during daylight hours! It's important!
