Well, it came sooner than I wanted, but we set Galaxy free Friday. He was struggling and seemed to be in pain so it was time to say goodbye. My only regret is my son, who brought Galaxy into our family, wasn’t there to see him go. But he knew he was loved.

Lasagna was amazing. So cheesy!! I still have 2/3rds of the pan left so I’ll be freezing it in portions for future meals. My son enjoyed it too, so that made me feel good.

Earlier this year, my colleague asked me to take down a post celebrating Juneteenth because WHITE PEOPLE in my town were mad. I didn’t take it down, but she did. She just asked me to do posts for Christmas Day. I told her I wasn’t doing holiday posts anymore & she could do them if she felt inclined.

Cheesecake is in the oven. I’m finally sitting down for a few minutes before making some honey butter and herbed butter. The honey butter is for the cornbread ala Marie Callender’s and the herbed butter is for the boring mixed vegetables. Jazzing them up in butter and wine.

We aren’t doing traditional Thanksgiving again this year. My mom is cooking steak and baked potatoes and King’s Hawaiian rolls. Here’s what I’m making for the meal. Yes, I design a menu for meals like this, even when they aren’t traditional. I am extra, I know.

My sister is sending me my mama’s birth and death certificates. I just ordered my daddy’s birth certificate and it should be here in about 10 days. I already have his death certificate. This paperwork puts me one step closer to my original birth certificate!

My mom announced again this year that she was “not doing Thanksgiving”. Well, that’s fine, but my sons are coming over so I had plans to make food.
Once she heard that, she’s suddenly back in the game and messing up my theme and plans. SMH.

He’s so annoying.
My third diagnostic mammogram of the year went well yesterday. There were no significant changes so that was good news. I go back in six months for more testing, just to stay on top of things.
