I lecture about political science, social media and media & politics @ York University, I used to write a lot about music but I don’t so much anymore. I still watch too much tennis. He/him.

He doesn’t even want to be around anymore.
The GOP outreach emails about Mamdani are very normal and extremely sane.

I know it’s been worn by others, but it’s still cool to see Andre 3000 on the red carpet tonight for OutKast’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction rocking the iconic Nike Air Trainer 1s that John McEnroe introduced back in 1986 and that Andre Agassi also wore during his breakthrough 1988 season.

RIP Mel Bridgman, original Ottawa Senators GM and by all accounts a very well liked teammate and colleague.

This hockey card though always terrified me as a child.

I’m not against face painting to support the team, but the Commanders colors are burgundy and gold, not pinkish and whatever mustard-ass yellow that is.

Hi Bluesky 👋

Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵

I truly didn’t think that in the year 2025 I would have to hear at least part of one of the worst songs released in my lifetime on every social media platform and multiple times a day.

That one could’ve really stayed in 1993.

West Ham’s Mark Noble is going to be surprised to find out they’re naming it after him and giving it to Trump.

🎶 I will remember you 🎶
With Eric Adams dropping out, let’s remember the craziest low-stake moment of his time in the spotlight: when he named the concert where Curtis Mayfield was paralyzed *before* getting to sing a note as the best concert he’s ever been to.

I'm happy that Mamdani won. But I won't let that get in the way of my celebrating Cuomo losing.

this is an obvious overcorrection that misleads the polling data and will lead to disaster in the Heartland. the results of tonight show that the Democrats should moderate: adopting two or at most three of the five pillars of Islam
if democrats are serious about winning they need to learn from tonight and convert to islam

Ackman is clearly as skilled at crafting slogans as he is at competing against professional tennis players.
Update #2: Ackman is still convinced Cuomo is going to win, and has proposed Cuomo adopt the slogan "MNYGA"

There is some sad irony in McClatchy shutting its DC bureau the same day that Dick Cheney died.

That bureau (then Knight-Ridder) did some of the best, most skeptical reporting anywhere in the run-up to the Iraq War. And they took a lot of shit for it at the time.
