Sunday, Trump's concept of a plan for a Greenland invasion suffered another setback.

Not only has Denmark sent ships and fighter jets and special forces troops — Aragorn just arrived in Nuuk.

Your move, Sauron.

Only 17 percent of Danes see the United States as an ally. That is the result of a new opinion poll conducted by Danmarks Radio. Sixty percent of Danes now view the United States as an adversary, while one in five Danes simply no longer knows what to think of the U.S.

If you get sick in Greenland and need treatment that the local hospitals cannot provide, you get airlifted to Copenhagen for treatment. Free of charge.
Waltz: "Denmark has ignored Greenland from a defense standpoint and they have ignored the Greenlandic native iniut people ... if you get a cancer diagnosis in Greenland right now, it's darn near a death sentence. Denmark has not invested in the way it should've over the years."

Here are my comments on why Trump abandoned his maximalist demands about ownership of Greenland. From a military perspective, it's a fascinating example of how small states can use military force to deter great powers from aggression.
Why Trump retreated on Greenland: When small states deter larger ones
In this video, I discuss the preliminary resolution of the Greenland crisis and why Trump decided to step back from his maximalist demands of owning Greenland. This crisis serves as a good example of ...

1/ Denmark was preparing to fight the United States over Greenland, according to Scandinavian news reports. Around 1,000 Danish troops and a frigate with anti-ship and anti-aircraft capabilities are being sent to Greenland, with standing orders to fight invading forces. ⬇️

~ Do you all remember when Trump belittled Denmark a few times last week by saying that all the country had done for arctic security is to send up a few dogsleds to Greenland? Well, that is a lie and...~

It's telling that watching the media report on Davos, certain big media (telegraph, NYT) are reporting wishful thinking from Americans as facts.

The only two media I've seen with trustworthy messages have been Danmarks Radio and BBC, two public broadcasters.

If you are bothered by the geopolitical crisis between Europe and the US, you should definitely boycott Estée Lauder, considering a principal mover behind the crisis is Ronald Lauder.

Been trying to explain this all day online, but people trusting in rumours and propaganda media clearly know better.
So in an interview with the Danish PM today the following things were said on #Greenland

* No surrender of sovereignty has happened, nor is it going to.

* Rutte was not officially negotiating on behalf of Denmark or Greenland

* Rutte has no mandate to negotiate on behalf of Greenland or Denmark

A lot of people like to speak on behalf of Greenland's people, in particular its Inuit population. There's also a lot of confusion regarding Greenland's status as a constitutient territory of the kingdom of Denmark. Here's an opportunity to listen to them rather than assume (NYT opinion, no paywall)

Ukraine (along with many other countries) is a true friend. And they deserve everything good in life.
Zelenksyy confirmed that he is not attending the forum in Davos and stated that he is staying in Ukraine to coordinate the restoration of energy supplies following the night-time attack.

Ukraine respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Denmark - Zelenskyy.

It continues. Last time Denmark deployed troops to defend our territory was in 1940. Once again, we face a murderous, fascist empire hellbent on conquering everyone, with a "might makes right" attitude. Which reminds me of a ww2 story:

Been following this guy for years, yet he feels comfortable shitting on our troops. While most of our combat-ready troops are in Estonia to defend him, an Estonian. What a friend.
Several dozen Danish soldiers arrived to defend Greenland.

A week later, they will fly back home due to worsening weather, just as the German troops did.

The most bizarre thing is, this alcoholic is actually spelling Denmark correctly. Didn't realise he was so knowledgeable about endonyms.

Anyway, fuck Russia. Half our forces may be in Greenland to stop the US, but the other half are in the Baltics to stop you, and all our artillery is in Ukraine.
