All things writing and editing, but mostly here to stay updated on politics. From Denmark.
And everyone hates him here already. He was asked numerous times if he would rule out an invasion of Greenland and could not say directly "no", just deflected.

Greenland isn't part of the EU, even though it's a part of Denmark. That said, its citizens are EU/Danish citizens, so their passports work the same.

Ah, understandable given the Latin at the bottom. Older tombstones tend to have the profession in a single Danish word like this, though. Sailor, merchant, baker, smith etc. Used to be common when people had a single, defining profession throughout their lives.

The word below the symbol means "doctor", so your assumption seems safe.

I would have felt personally betrayed by Norway if the pumpkin scarecrow had received it

How bold to call for the overthrow of the republic after it has already happened. Calling for Augustus to be imperator 20 years after he won the civil war. Guess he's trying to manufacture consent backwards in time or make it seem like it was always necessary.

Worth reading just for that bit

Feels like you're treating Europe, the continent, as a monolith. I cannot think of anybody in northern Europe who seriously want to move to the USA.

You might find the occasional idiot, but you also find Americans moving to Russia. Hardly a statistically relevant sample.

In addition to that, Frederiksen laughing at his 'absurd' desire to buy Greenland in 2019, and her response to his threats in 2024.

Other European leaders may bend the knee, but I cannot fault our government for how they've represented Denmark against this new threat.

His description of European leaders, while perhaps apt in some cases, run counter to how the Danish leadership has stood up to Trump.

I just read Stoltenberg's account of a NATO meeting. Lars Løkke refused to remain silent and told Trump the truth about our contributions, demanding respect.

Denmark, so maybe you can imagine. Lots of concern and uncertainty, people not sure what this means. But mostly anger that we weren't prepared for this and didn't seem to have a good response. I imagine we will next time, in part thanks to Ukrainian assistance with how to handle drones.

Der er desværre masser af bebrejdelse, som bør uddeles.

I burst out laughing

I can't speak to all your points, and certainly racism is a problem in probably every society, but Greenland very much has the freedom to become independent. It's enshrined in law. They choose to stay due to subsidies from Denmark, and recently, protection against US interests.

Familiar to some as the setting of Beowulf :)

Immediately after seeing your post, I went to youtube to see that exact clip. Needed a dose after being reminded of it
