Anytime somebody says or indicates it's because YOU have done something wrong when it's a deeply (which it usually is) systemic harm they are adding more harm.

🇬🇧 🇨🇦 and all others deriving glee at hating the American people

Especially 🇬🇧 who passed the baton of world bully to its own devil spawn

This is CRITICAL. I know you’re all putting your back into mutual aid & a thousand other great things, but if there’s anything left here, so many folks depend on these front-line lawyers right now.
I spoke to a friend on the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota board. They need financial donations to keep up with the heightened demand for their services: www.ilcm.org

ILCM is a nonprofit that provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in MN & ND

Birdsong is something that can be a vital part of your well-being for years without you noticing or appreciating it, like having intact internal organs.

🖤 A close friend of mine died in ICE custody after being denied medical care. His name was Parady La. This was preventable. Please watch and share so his family’s story is not erased. #ICEDetention

The eternal problem of the IT department: if you do your job well and nothing breaks people then ask why you are needed as everything just works. However, ignore maintenance and you then get rewarded for fixing big problems which could have been prevented.

With the Insurrection Act looming in Minnesota, now is the time to learn how it might unfold and the strategic ways to respond — including the power of ridicule.

🤔 In 2021, Kip Mock of Moscow ID accidentally set his pal, Elijah Froh, on fire by pouring diesel on a fire. Mock & Froh were later were hired by Valar Atomics—founded by their pal, Isaiah Taylor, a high school dropout from Moscow, ID who somehow landed a DOE contract to build a nuclear reactor. 1/

There's a reason why Black people can make a joke at any time about anything. We've been surviving white people for hundreds of years now. Black joy is in spite of that. Above that. Beyond that.

You're a full human even if the world wants you to be only fear and nothingness. Eat. Laugh. Fight.
I'm gonna say this with all the kindness in my heart: you aren't going to survive if you don't let your life have room for other things.

This is not a short term fight where we can just go 24/7 and then it will be over. We've got YEARS ahead of us. Take a break. Hydrate. Go bake something. Breathe.

Missed this a few days ago:

Two U.S. citizens grabbed by ICE say there were cells reserved for Americans.

Also, they weren’t given medical attention or allowed to go to the bathroom.

You are on the front lines already.

Thought about history/perspectives on BW being home/doing communal care work (compared to working for yts)…but during CRM “domestic workers became central to the movement’s success.”

Care work is racialized and gendered, why some ppl downplay its role in movements vs. protest, hypervisible roles.

Reminder that as bad as it is in the U.S., many still have homes and food.
Palestinians, after losing everything and being treated worse by the IOF than ICe is treating those here, are still being genocided.

anyone else both heartened and saddened by the public restroom
thing in NYC?
I'd feel better if they were composting toilets
But the idea anyone in the US will have functioning running water 5 years from now seems impossible
No one seems to grasp how fast it gets bad

Sometimes it helps me to consider this as my last time being human

Enjoy the sense of having arms and legs and the ability to read

the population of humans on Earth will crash
The next incarnations for most of us won't be human

I'm in the Midwest with strong ties to Mpls. I'm homeless, chronically ill & have been in dire straits for months

Yet my international friends have no time or bandwidth for me

They are too worried about what the U.S. is doing that affects them

And they blame Americans
saying it's our fault

Please stop celebrating resignations
This is by design. Trump’s DOJ is engaging in a campaign of gutting the department of all principled, honest officers of the court. Those positions will be filled with boot licking lackeys…..or not filled at all.

When January 6 people started to get arrested none of the arrests were violent. When we are arrested by feds we often end up in the hospital or in need of one. They tackle us for jaywalking even when the street has zero traffic in all four directions. They assault us for being on a city sidewalk.
