#Toronto harbour froze after weeks of negative temps, I decided to do a photo day on the islands in February. A snowstorm started and the cityscape disappeared, but as I ventured out onto the ice, it revealed itself.

It's scraggly; it's lop-sided; it's dug in on harsh ground 10m past where the rest gave up.
I've resented being complimented for resilience, but if it means I've got a little Jack Pine in me... Perhaps that's a kinship to be embraced.
