I’ve driven by the Kelso bit of the escarpment on Highway 401 my entire life. The landmark entrance to the GTA when coming from the west. Today we finally hiked this part of the Bruce Trail.

Good morning from Rouge Hill in Toronto. Today I will be following the Lake Ontario shoreline eastwards towards Whitby. I'll start here in Scarborough's southeastern corner and jump over the Rouge River. Hoping wildfire smoke dissipates as projected. Let's go. #metroscapes

Beautiful day to check out the new Biidaasige Park in the Portlands. Full of people. Many connecting trails, water access for boating and fishing, naturalized river vistas, picnic areas, variety of seating, native vegetation. It’s wonderful.

Biidaasige Park is SO GOOD. It's only a day after it opened, and it was already full of people.

It's been a little bit since I've paddled thru all of the Toronto islands. Today's mission is to get to the Forestry, Donut and Harlan's islands.

The few small islands that don't allow visitors and are not accessable without a boat.

📍 Trillium Park

Air is heavy this morning.
A family of minks are rolling around and fishing on the rocks. Swallows are picking off bugs over the surface of the still lake. Beaver is here. Towards the islands I can hear the terns out on the water.
