Live skeeting the Democratic primary forum hosted by California @workingfamilies.org

The forum will be the first chance for voters to see candidates Scott Wiener, Connie Chan and Saikat Chakrabarti make the case for why they should be elected to the seat Pelosi held for nearly 40 years.

i/p is sort of like “what if the bulk of democratic party’s electeds were inexplicably opposed to gay marriage in 2016”

Incredible.

Hating teachers is one of the defining characteristics of neoliberals.

But putting that aside teachers in SF are only asking for slightly less compensation as teachers in surrounding districts because the inability to retain talent is why outcomes are so poor.

The majority of the party elected supported an active genocide and still defend the apartheid state commiting it, from that perspective we were cooked a long time ago.
If in a country of 330 million ppl you cannot find a second candidate without a nazi tattoo then just cancel elections and stop the pretense, you're fully cooked

This post was made in lab specifically to piss off bluesky.
A base that has long made pragmatic, sober decisions appears increasingly attracted to charismatic outsiders who promise to break from the party’s failures of the last decade. They see their party’s leaders as feckless and inept.

It’s the Democratic Tea Party, with a twist. trib.al/mC5cBDA

1 in 3 viewing themselves as socialist is surprising at first until you realize we're the only element of the party with a vision for a better world.

If anyone wants a sober assessment of AI and what it can do, just look to China and how they're implementing it to enhance production.

The enemy isn't the code, it's an economic system controlled by capital.
The predominent anti-AI position on bsky is that AI is useless, fake, shit and basically the same as NFTs, destined to collapse in months once everyone sees how poor it is. So anyone who suggests that it could improve or be useful to any boss in any situation in the future must be evil.

Biden left us in this mess but at least he can relive his "I beat the socialist!" moment.

Gloves are coming off.
I moved to SF at 23 in 2009, and I’m raising my family here. But my opponent is spinning lies to make me seem like a carpetbagger. Whether you grew up here, moved here, or arrived yesterday —  this is a city that welcomes everyone. I’m proud to call San Francisco home.

We gotta add "Republican politician" to the DSM.
This is some genuinely psycho shit...

The global left has, it's called "the communist party of china" and they're using it for industrial production.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Sorcerer's apprentice has returned.
a lot of "AI hype" discourse makes more sense when you realize that a lot of initial LLM/GenAI hype envisioned replacing artists and PhDs, and its actual impacts have been much greater on coders and other tech workers

creatives/experts see "AI" as underperforming hype, techies see it overperforming

AI is one big Pareidolia test that a lot of people are failing in spectacular fashion.

I don't know what kind of scientific publication would convince me AI can "think", but I know nobody from the Abundance set is going to author it.

Invoking wealthy class solidarity to excuse sex crimes against children is sorta the Epstein Class in a nutshell
Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

Oh you can't afford a home? Have you tried cutting out life sustaining calories?

"I won't talk about Epstein, but I will say how proud I am of his clients wealth!"
