Suddenly emergent mass movements without political education, a shared history, and established culture are doomed to be reactionary failures. Similar to occupy we saw the same thing happen post-2020 Uprising.
Occupy was the first time "people from the internet" showed up in on-the-ground activism, and it so infamously sucked for existing activists that it basically destroyed the counter-globalization era movement.

When training/teaching community defense, I personally try to focus on leg kicks, oblique kicks, and teeps. These tend to be high reward, low risk techniques that are also easy to learn. However, there are times when side, head, or even flying kicks could work if you have the proper training.

Why are you trying to de-escalate the righteous rage of your fellow protesters? Why are you more worried about maintaining civility over fighting for literal lives? What about this regime makes you think that they'll give you what you want if you ask politely enough?
Obviously black bloc is there to escalate the situation so how can you deescalate things when they show up? Not asking as a legal observer, just in general cuz legit protestors get blamed for their nonsense.

Street fights usually don't usually last long enough for body shots to accumulate damage. However, they can be used to get your opponent to drop their hands which will set up your head strikes.
Jean Silva isn't a super deep offensive boxer, but his body hook and combos off it do a lot of work setting up hurting shots in closed stance engagements

I just got around to watching Gaethje vs. Pimblett. Great fucking fight. Gaethje had a reckless game plan and his technique looked sloppy, but he obviously knew that pressure was the key to winning. If you want to train MMA for Anti-Fascism then Gaethje is someone to emulate.

I am trying to be better about my relationship irt liberals at protests. But when things like are described here happen, I am reaffirmed that attending lib-organized events is to be done after a serious risk assessment and with one's own capacity for decorum in mind.
What I saw last night at the PDX anti-ICE rally hosted by @socialistalt.bsky.social and @pdxoregon50501.bsky.social was one of the most cowardly, embarrassing, and dangerous things I've seen. The so-called security and organizers prioritized the safety of literal fascists over the community.
