Two groups, both claiming to be local residents and businesses, have popped up in opposition for each of the Dufferin and Bathurst transit-only surface routes.

Yes. In Quebec, cyclists are prohibited from wearing "earphones or headphones that cover one or both ears".
Drivers are allowed "to wear a headphone or earphone in only one ear, in order for the driver to hear the sounds of the surrounding environment".
So we apply higher standards to cyclists.

Toronto’s two new ferries will be costing this much alone. Not to mention maintenance/staffing annual costs that I’m sure are much higher than a bridge.

It does feel kind of strange that a few years ago -while we had a lot of big discussions about Canada’s national history and who we celebrate- nobody pointed out who our Westernmost province is named after.
