I think a lot of the LLM horror stories are downstream of the fact that they feign having personalities, feelings and opinions. That is just false information, every time, and it coaxes impressionable users into strange, dark places. These things should be as bland as the computer from Star Trek.

There's a long running Sci Fi idea where if you can just solve the energy problem then you can make huge technological leaps because you can suddenly brute-force solutions to problems, like solving water access by distilling sea water (a hideously inefficient process).
