"Sir, did you just abuse and insult a journalist for asking a question? And did you publicly call a woman a piggie? Is this the way a U.S. President behaves?"

A reporter who so spoke loses WH credentials, maybe his job if his agency is gutless. But absent such, the entire WHPC is without honor.

would rather have politicians who “don’t understand how the senate works” be elected to the senate than it be made up of protect-the-status-quo puppets who don’t understand how reality is impacted by the decisions *of* the senate

Great news, everybody! The ACA is materially undermined, no concessions were secured on any other front, and Donald Trump will be able to declare this a personal win. But poor people did starve for about a week there, so there's that.
The Senate has decided the HSA idea from Trump is a win and they're going to do it.

Man, this timeline SUCKS.

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Cull the Democratic Party. Systematically chip away all the weak, corporate centrists and corrupt, gutless elected officials who refuse to fight and instead suck at the teat of the oligarchy.

If the Democrats were a real party and not a bunch of spineless career politician cowards these 8 senators would be ejected tomorrow morning.
EIGHT Senate Democrats have voted to advance the funding measure so far after the deal was reached:

Cortez Masto
Durbin
Fetterman
Hassan
Kaine
King
Rosen
Shaheen

If the existing 52 Republicans hold, that's 60 — enough to advance this agreement. Final vote still to come.

Nothing in the FOIA says agencies can close a request after three days just because they feel like it.
In August the Energy Dept sent a mass still interested letter to FOIA requesters, basically making it much easier to close out a bunch of old requests.

Obviously I filled a FOIA request about it.

Energy just told me I have 3 days to narrow my request or they are closing it.

Lolol uh no.

It's less than 24 hours after 5-8 million Americans marched against a president who called them domestic terrorists, and there is zero reference to it on the current NYT home page, except for a Bouie op/ed that came out several days earlier.

NEW @motherjones.com: Nobody in that GOP group chat praising Hitler or making racist comments was a “kid,” as JD Vance claimed today

I tracked down their ages. (Weirdly, it seems nobody else did.)

Eight of the 11 in the group chat range from 24 to 35. Ages of others are unclear.

But… no “kids”!
No one in the GOP Hitler chat was a "kid"
We checked. Sorry, JD Vance.

For the last five years, I've tried to get various local acts to open up about the business-end of being a musician in 2025. A few have delivered great bits of commentary, but The Spine Stealers and I went deep on what that looks like—and means—for a band on the precipice of a breakout.

they are relying on you being afraid to post, say, or do anything meaningfully confrontational

they are relying on using the fear of repercussion to quell dissent and solidarity

they are relying on eliminating any and all pathways that lead to THEM being punished

don’t fall for it — fight back
