Looking over the Epstein book messages, I'm struck by how comfortable everyone was with compiling something like this, contributing to it, and receiving it. Something most people with common sense would avoid like the plague.

But the super-rich and powerful know how insulated they are.

The absolute audacity of American politicians people these days. Like, do they not know that we all have receipts? Is consistency (the opposite of hypocrisy) no longer a value to be upheld in public life?
You had your chance to remove and bar him from the presidency after Jan 6. And you chickened out.

1 summer of running an AC in British Columbia generates as much carbon as 14 hours of running an AC in Alberta. Maybe it’s not the AC that’s the problem.

“One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.”

“Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.”

One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss
Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

This is insane. Musk, the world's richest man, owner of the most influential political messaging platform, and a de facto government member and top ally to the president, is accusing a journalist of being a criminal, because she reported on one of his racist DOGE staffers. This is fascist behavior.

Ok Canada, time to pick ourselves up, dust off and leave that abusive, one-sided relationship. We may still have to live next door and see them regularly but now we see how transactional and uncaring the relationship always was. It’s time to get back on the apps and leave their 2AM texts on read

In light of imminent US tariffs on Canadian goods, as a Canadian citizen and consumer is there any guidance I can find on how to avoid supporting US companies and buy Canadian and non-US goods?

Misinformation isn't random - it's strategic. 🧵

In the first cross-national comparative study, we examine 32M tweets from politicians.

We find that misinformation is not a general condition: it is driven by populist radical right parties.
