Today's ponderance: can I use this hardwood lump charcoal for BBQing to draw with? I don't see why I couldn't because it's basically just a big stick of charcoal, but maybe it won't work because it's been treated somehow.

I'll try it later today and report back.

I had a dream I was dating Taron Egerton and brought him to a family gathering where I ended up telling my dad's family off as well as where to shove their false pleasantries.

THE CABIN AT THE END OF THE WORLD by Paul Tremblay. It's been a couple years now since I read it, and I *still* get that sinking-stomach feeling when I think about it. The numb shock sat with me for days. I decided then that that is the type of story I want to write, the cold ambiguous one.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Wow, okay. I thought I was blocking some insufferable asshole in someone else's replies, but no! I blocked my friend instead!

I've fixed that. Sorry, Stina.

Just dropped all the leftover shredded chicken down all over the couch and into the cracks. I hope the vacuum cleaner was in the mood for tacos, too.

One of those days, man. One of those days.

normally I don't like it when people rush to infer queerness in every depiction of men displaying homosocial intimacy, I find it reductive and even a little fetishistic.
That being said this is basically a hardcore sex scene

Interviewing politicians is pointless. Interview animals instead. They won't make sense either but at least they're worth looking at

Well, I *was* going to keep knitting, but Dozer decided to put his big head right in my lap and make that impossible. So now I'm just sitting here trying to stay awake by other means.

(Don't tell me to kick the dog off; that's against the law and I wouldn't anyway.)

Here's the spoils. There is nowhere in my house with good light, so this is the best I've got. Also I didn't take the yarn out of the plastic because I don't know where I'm storing it yet and I'd prefer it not get ruined. The camera doesn't do it justice, tbh.

My yarn arrived earlier, and I love all the colors. I have to finish one gift knit before I can cast on anything else (there's 3 sweaters' worth and then some), but I'm super excited to work with this new stuff.
