But hey the piece I wrote five years ago about the storming of the fucking Capitol and how much people think it’s “more complex” while this man SAYS and the senior thesis of the architects and their PUBLISHED trajectory isn’t about denying very SPECIFIC people a voice and resources

2025 was mostly garbage, but there were some good moments.

One of my favorites was when a family of beavers built a dam in just a few days, saving the Czech Republic 30 million Czech koruna (US$1.2 million) for a wetland restoration project the government had been planning for 7 years. 🦫 🌿
These eager beavers saved the Czech government $1.2 million
After plans stalled for a new dam in the Czech Republic, eight beavers saved the day seemingly overnight. “At this point, nothing that beavers do surprises me.”

I’m not exaggerating at all when I say that “you want me to come?” is one of the most beautiful displays of friendship and love that can come out of anyone’s mouth. My closest friends and my boyfriend are people who simply saw me and wanted to walk alongside & help shoulder my life. In joy and pain

Also, doing so would make a statement without actually making a statement. Leaking that she was in talks with Lula would placate those who are worried that she would permit Trump to drain the country for a small cut or go scorched earth Gaddafi-style.

Venezuela deserves a better third option. One that looks like what Lula is to Brazil. One doesn't have to choose between dictators and racist colonizers. That's not a choice. Rodriguez can show that she aims to be a real one.

I'd also announce that free elections would occur in 4 years.

I never knew this and I live around a lot of coyotes. Spreading the information. And don't forget your puppers! Coyotes are not safe I don't care how big your dog is. Unless you live with like a guardian livestock dog or something, bring them in at night! (It's cold anyway!)
I'm not going to get into an indoor vs. outdoor cat debate but I want to point out that Jan - Mar is coyote mating season in North America, which means coyotes are more agitated and territorial and therefore an increased danger to outdoor cats. Make the best decisions you can for your pets, please.

I’m at Times Square, where an emergency “No War On Venezuela” protest just took to the street. Easily a thousand people here in real-feel 20°F weather.

“No more coups, no more wars, Venezuela’s not yours!”

“No boots on the ground no bombs in the air, U.S. out of everywhere!”

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.

As of today, I am a FULL professor. I do not care much for occupational status markers. Still, it is not lost on me that only 2% of full professors are Black women. This goes beyond personal accomplishment. It is a responsibility to do as much as I can for others. That is exactly what I aim to do.
